1EntrepreneurshipThis course teaches the students the principle of entrepreneurial mentality, creative and innovative skill, self-development, capturing business opportunity and developing business planning idea and business model canvas, and to be cooperative in arranging Student Creativity Program proposal
2Philosophy of ScienceThis course is intended to develop students’ ability in explaining and representing topic choice in Philosophy of Science, and to summarize ontological, epistemological, axiological, methodological, and rhetorical dimensions in the topic choice in Philosophy of Science. Recalling that this course is delivered to the Students of Sociology, it is expected to give philosophical reference related to the appearance of sociological study object, paradigm, theory, sociological method and problems. This course will discuss some basic components: (1) Philosophy of Science definition and scope; and (2) ontological, epistemological, axiological, rhetorical, and methodological dimensions in the topic choice in Philosophy of Science.
3Indonesian Social-Cultural SystemStudents study the definition of Indonesian social-cultural system: pluralism concept and pluralism phenomenon in Indonesia, belief system, ethnicity in Indonesian Community, Gender, Industrial relation, Regional Autonomy, Living Environment Management, Intergroup Relation in Indonesia, and Integration. Then, the students learn and study various problems in Indonesian Social Cultural System using Sociological Perspective.
4Indonesian Political SystemThe Indonesian Political System course is a compulsory course to students of FISIP UNS. The students are expected to have an ability of identifying and elaborating historically the establishment of Indonesian Political System as well as the dynamic occurring in its historical journey. This course also discusses social, political, economic, and cultural contexts as the factors affecting political system practice existing. Learning model using blended learning system in the Sociology of Politics course aims to construct the competence of students to be critical and reflective graduates in interpreting valid information they obtain from multimedia as the supporting instrument for this lecture. The students are also invited to participate directly in conducting field assessment like observation, interview, and document collection that will be used to analyze political system critically.
5Social Structure and InstitutionThis course discusses definition, characteristic, function, and development of social institution. In addition, it also discusses social deviation and control institution, types of basic social institutions, inter-institution relation and its development, and issues related to social institution in contemporary society.
6PancasilaThis course discuss the foundation and objective of Pancasila Education, historical values of Indonesians’ struggle and independence proclamation on August 1945, maintaining and filling the Indonesia’s independence based on Pancasila, Pancasila as philosophical system, state ideology, human right.
7Social Political TheoryThe Sociology of Politics course discusses a variety of social, cultural, and political phenomenon through micro-, mezzo-, and macro-approaches to improve the students’ competency in analyzing social issues. This course enables the students to identify, and elaborate social cultural issues, and to interpret them reflectively and critically. It aims to enable the students to formulate strategic recommendation to solve social, political, and cultural problems occurring. The lecturing methods used are group discussion, assignment, presentation of assignment result, and utilizing online data searching. The Sociology of Politics course aims to make the students competent to be social, cultural, and political analysts sociologically in order to produce critical and reflective analysis. Through blended learning lecturing method, the students will be experienced with conducting research along with teamwork (group), so that they can practice such research methods as observation, interview, and document study as research experience.
8Social Research MethodThis course is intended to develop the students’ ability of explaining, analyzing, and implementing quantitative, qualitative, evaluative or action research method application. Recalling that this course is delivered to the Sociology students, it is directed to discuss social problem from sociological analysis perspective. This course will discuss three basic components: (1) definition and scope of quantitative, qualitative, evaluative, or action research method, (2) mastery of quantitative, qualitative, evaluative, or action research method, and (3) quantitative, qualitative, evaluative, or action research. In this course, the students are obliged to do quantitative, qualitative, evaluative, or action research within society.
