1 | Sociology of Information Society | Information and Communication technology has been a part of mediated interaction in contemporary society’s daily activity. This course focuses on how information technology and society are interdependent in a variety of different contexts. Using theoretical framework and empirical study, the students can see critically how social norms and values create information technology design, how information technology organizes social order, and how people (communities) use, adapt to, and decline information technology. |
2 | Social Entrepreneurship | This course aims to give the students an introduction to sociology in the learning process and to develop entrepreneurship idea in campus. For that reason, the learning scheme trying to be developed is an attempt of expanding perspective to identify the broader problem dimension with online presentation and class discussion sessions connected to practitioners. The learning scheme is implemented by elaborating various forms of experience existing, so that the scheme intended to selfdevelopment, networking, and to encourage a variety of independence initiatives can be implemented. |
3 | Sociology of Conflict and Social Movements | The course of Social Political Theory is a compulsory course to the students of FISIP UNS. The students are expected to have abilities of identifying, elaborating political issues in a social context, analyzing, and interpreting political phenomenon. Blended learning system in Sociology of Politics course aims to construct the competency of students in order to be graduates that utilize multimedia lecturing supporting instrument creatively, in relation to social and political issues. The students will have experience with field research, observation, and analysis on social political phenomena through Freedom-to-Learn process. Thus, they will have experience with cooperating in their group in the field. |
4 | Migration and Globalization | This course aims to construct the students’ critical understanding on globalization, migration, and the relationship between the two. It discusses important topics within society such as the state’s character and the recent social transformation pattern. This course discusses four themes, each of which connects globalization and migration to such topics as neoliberalism, institution, public attitude, and immigrants’ experience with their orderliness as the performers of horizontal mobility and global experience they have. In addition, it also discusses the effect generated in ethnic, idea, media, financial, technological and other related domains. |
5 | Sociology of Clinic | This course is intended to develop students’ abilities to understand concepts and theories in clinical sociology, write down observations about social reality, conduct research related to clinical sociology |
6 | Sociology of Javanese Community | This course is intended to develop students ability to explain and apply theory Javanese Sociology. |
7 | Thesis | This course is a compulsory course before taking the Thesis course. The targets of this course are Chapters I, II, and III as the proposal of Thesis so that students will understand the scientific method, the state of the art of research, reference searches, how to write Chapters I, II, and III properly and correctly and avoid plagiarism. Learning is conducted through presentations, class discussions and structured assignments. |
